Rescue story
Before she was Aster, she was the red female baby. That is what our notes called her, because when she got here that is all we knew. We do not have her history. A lot of them come to us that way, without a past attached, and we have made our peace with not knowing. What we could give her was a name. She got a flower, like several others who came in around the same time, and she stopped being a description and became somebody. She is a standard donkey in the main pasture, growing up here, and she will never have to be the red female baby again.
Virtually adopted
Aster is looked after with the help of Jillian Conroy, whose monthly support pays for feed, feet and vet care.
