Rescue story
In our notes, Fern is Large Momma. That is the name she came in under and it is the only clue we have about her. It tells us two things. She was a big girl, and she was somebody's mother. The rest is gone. We do not know where she came from, how many foals she raised, or what happened to any of them. Whoever could have told us did not, and the record simply starts on the day she arrived. She is a standard donkey in the main pasture. She has been a mother, and somewhere out there is a life she had before this one that nobody wrote down. She has this one now, and this one we keep track of.
