Rescue story

Red came to us from our friends at Fonzy's Rescue down in Texas. Before that he was a cattle horse, and he was used up. That is the honest word for it. Worked hard for years and then worth nothing to anybody once he could not do it anymore. He has severe navicular and he has Cushings. The navicular is a painful condition in the foot, it does not get better, and it means he will never be ridden again. Every month he needs special shoes just to be comfortable standing in a field, and he gets them from one of the best farriers in the world. That is his life now and it will be for the rest of it. Except here is the thing about Red. He is not bitter and he is not soured and he did not decide people were the enemy. He is the sweetest boy on this farm and he will come find you just to be near you. Somebody took everything he had. He still shows up for us anyway.
